When you need
someone to Be There.

GET SUPPORT

Be There Foundation provides practical support to women experiencing domestic and family violence. You do not have to explain everything. You do not have to be in danger right now. You can just tell us what you need.

Queensland has extraordinary specialist services filled with extraordinary people.
We work alongside them. We don’t replace them. When systems are stretched, we try to fill the immediate practical gap, or help you work out
where to go next.

Being honest about
what we are.

We are not a refuge.

We are not a crisis line.

We are not an emergency service.

If you are in immediate danger, call 000.
For 24-hour national counselling and information, call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732.

Referrals to the right service

We can’t promise every kind of help every time. What we can do depends on what we have and what’s needed that week. But what we can promise that we care and we will do what we can for you. These are things we’ve been able to do so far.

Small, practical,
immediate.

WHAT HELP CAN LOOK LIKE

Sometimes support looks like advocacy. Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly beside someone. Sometimes it’s simply making sure you have toothpaste, a toothbrush, clean underwear and hope.

“You are everything. You’ve changed my life. I want to do for others what you have done for me.”

A victim-survivor-THRIVER

We paid for her car to be serviced so she could get to court, gave her a secure phone, and helped cover specialist legal advice. And we kept showing up, listening and believing her.

IN THEIR WORDS

“You just showed up when I needed to believe in myself again and felt alone on my journey.”

A victim-survivor-THRIVER

We connected her with the right domestic violence services, helped with her application for a domestic violence order, and went with her to court.

“I just needed someone to tell me that everything was going to be ok.”

A victim-survivor-THRIVER

We made sure she had someone alongside her at the point she most needed it.

IF YOU’RE A MAN REACHING OUT

You reached out. We’ll help you find the right door.

Be There Foundation’s direct support is focused on women. If you're a man experiencing domestic and family violence, we may not be the right organisation to provide your ongoing support, and we won't pretend otherwise.

What we will do is treat you with dignity, take you seriously, and help connect you with a specialist men’s organisation that can. Use the form below, or contact a specialist service directly.
